Which are the best seats in the theatre?
All seats in the theatre have an excellent view of the stage – there are no viewing restrictions – hence the fact that all tickets are all the same price per performance.

Does the theatre have concessionary ticket prices?
Rather than give concessions we try to keep ticket prices affordable for all – therefore the only concessions are for registered disabled requiring a wheelchair space.

Is a performance cancelled if the weather is bad?
The open-air the theatre is covered and therefore performances are never cancelled due to adverse weather as both the audience and acting company remain dry. However it is advisable to dress accordingly for an outdoor venue. Blankets if required can be hired from the theatre bar for a small donation to our chosen charity.

If it’s raining is there anywhere indoors I can have a picnic?
Unfortunately we do not have a covered area for those wishing to picnic. Past experience has proven in the event of showers our ‘hardy’ audiences either picnic under our substantial picnic umbrellas or sit in their vehicles until the shower passes.

What car parking facilities do you provide?
There is free parking adjacent to the theatre venue and parking stewards are on duty to direct you to the most convenient parking space whether dining in the hotel, using the picnic area or just visiting the theatre. The stewards are also able to assist blue badge holders to direct them to the nearest available parking.

What time does the picnic area open?
The Picnic area opens at 5.30pm for evening performances and 12 noon for matinee performances – tables and chairs are provided but cannot be reserved. Guests are more than welcome however to bring their own picnic furniture. We do respectfully request that all picnic items are returned to vehicles before entering the theatre venue itself.

The Theatre venue incorporating the Theatre bar and Staging Post opens 1 hour prior to each performance.

What time do I need to be there for pre-theatre dinner / lunch?
Guests for Pre-theatre dining in the Orangery or Wordsworth Restaurant are seated between 5.00pm & 5.30pm and between 12noon and 12.30pm for lunch. It is recommend not to arrive later than these given times..

How long is the interval?
The Interval for each theatre production is 20 minutes.

Where are the nearest toilets?
Toilets are available pre-show near the picnic area and also in the theatre venue. There is also a disabled toilet in the theatre venue

Can we bring our own food and drink?
Drinks: Those bringing their own picnics are more than welcome to bring their own alcoholic & soft drinks however we do respectfully request that all picnic items are returned to vehicles before entering the theatre venue itself as no alcohol, food or glasses are permitted beyond the ticket office and entrance to the theatre venue.

Can we buy food at the theatre?
Food: The theatre bar sells crisps and chocolate snacks prior to each performance and during the interval. Ice-creams are also available prior to each show and during the interval.

Can I get a hot drink at the theatre?
The theatre bar and the Staging Post sell alcohol, soft drinks, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks.

Is there anywhere we can sit indoors for a drink?
The Staging Post can be used pre-show and during the interval IF not booked for a private party but is always open to the general public after each performance.

One of my party is in a wheelchair / has mobility problems –
what facilities do you offer?
The whole of the Kilworth House Theatre site including the car park is accessible for wheelchair users and those with mobility difficulties.
Within the auditorium there are four spaces on Row A reserved for wheelchair users. In each case there is a seat next to the wheelchair space for an accompanying person. We prefer to speak directly to the customer about their specific needs and allocate them the best seats available to serve these needs.
There are reserved parking spaces for wheelchair users only which are booked through the Box Office at the time of booking a wheelchair space in the auditorium on Row A. We also have our own wheelchair available on request from the ticket office for guests to borrow to gain access to and from the auditorium.

I have an Assistance dog – can I bring it to the theatre with me?
Kilworth House Theatre welcomes Assistance Dogs and is happy to cater to their needs when attending a performance. Please inform the Box Office when booking if an assistance dog will be in attendance.
I wear a hearing aid does this make a difference to where I sit?
The theatre has installed an induction loop system for those who use a hearing aid. It is necessary to set your hearing aid to the T position before the performance starts.

There is a well-marked path between the hotel and the theatre suitable, if necessary, for a wheelchair. For clients with mobility difficulties we can provide transport by golf buggy between the hotel and the theatre entrance and vice versa, commencing one hour before and immediately after the show

I can’t now come to the performance I have tickets for – can I return them or swop them for another performance? In line with most other venues, tickets for Kilworth House Theatre cannot be exchanged or money refunded once payment has been made. If guests are unable to use their tickets, the Box Office will endeavour to resell them on the understanding that the sale of the theatre’s own available seats takes priority. A fee of 20% will be charged for a successful resale. Guests are welcome to try and sell their tickets privately or give to friends or family.

I have lost my tickets, what can I do?
Duplicate tickets can be provided upon calling the Box Office on 01858 881939 or on the night at the ticket office at the entrance to the theatre. Proof of identity will be requested / required if requiring tickets to be re-printed on the day of the performance.

I am attending a performance today and have a query but the box office is closed – who can I contact?
A member of the box office staff is always available in the ticket office at the entrance to the theatre 1 1/2hrs prior to each performance and can be contacted on the phone by ringing the Hotel on 01858 880058 and asking for the ticket office. If your query is regarding pre-theatre dining then please call the hotel on the above number and our Hotel receptionists will be able to answer your query or direct your call to someone who will be able to help.
